Education

Mr. Bishop obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of California, San Diego in 1994. After working in the restaurant business for two years and completing an internship with the San Diego Public Defender’s office, Mr. Bishop attended the University of San Diego School of Law and earned his Juris Doctorate in 1999. Throughout law school, Mr. Bishop worked as a law clerk with an emphasis in civil litigation.

MICHAEL BISHOP Associate Areas of Practice Mr. Bishop joined Dillon & Gerardi, APC in 2006. His practice areas include a variety of civil litigation matters, including business litigation and personal injury. Mr. Bishop also serves as general counsel for businesses on a variety of matters, including reviewing and drafting of employment practices, policies and employee manuals, contracts review and drafting and risk management. Representative Matters Successfully defended local business in class action and unfair business practices claims which threatened to bankrupt the business. Successfully defended homeowners in adverse claim seeking title to their home. Represented business in enforcing confidentiality agreement and preventing misuse of trade secrets by former, disgruntled employees. Advised hospital on risk management issues and redrafting of policies and procedures. Successfully obtained settlement on behalf of commercial landlord against former tenant for breach of lease agreement. Pro Bono: Negotiated release of oppressive contract signed by elderly client with onset of dementia.
